Postcards to a friend
28th January
Dear Feifei,
We moved to Shenzhen yesterday.
My parents have new jobs here.
It was cold in Shenyang.
It's much warmer in Shenzhen!
I don't need to wear a coat or a sweater.
I feel lonely.
It makes me so happy when I look at your photo.
I miss you so much!
Love,Rongrong
22nd February
Dear Feifei,
School has started and it's going OK.
I joined the school band and the volleyball team last week, so I'm quite busy.
Love, Rongrong
PS: Ningning and Yuanyuan from the band invited me to Happy Valley this weekend.
I'm so excited!
20th March
Hi Feifei,
Guess what!
On Saturday,
Ningning, Yuanyuan and I are going to play in a concert and raise money for homeless animals.
I feel so happy that I can help them.
I can't wait for the holiday so I can meet you!
Love, Rongrong

Moving from here ...to there!
Every day, people move to new places.
Why do people move?
Let's look at three important reasons.
Cities often have more businesses, so there are more jobs for people.
In 2001, around 38 percent of people in China lived in cities.
In 2022, that number was around 65 percent.
Last year, my parents found new jobs in Chengdu, so we moved here.
I'm in a new school, and I like my new friends.
Some people may move to be closer to better services, such as hospitals and schools.
Some people may move for more space.
When I was three, my parents sold our flat in London and bought a house outside the city.
There's lots of space to play football here.
Sometimes, people may move to make a change in their lives.
They may want to learn about another country.
As you can see, people move for many reasons, but usually for a better life.
Maybe one day you will move too!
My family moved to China when I was five.
My parents came here to study Chinese.
We love this country.
