How music makes us feel
People around the world enjoy music.
Some music is fast, and some is slow.
Listen to this piano music.
Is it fast or slow?
Zhang Liang listens to slow music at night. Why?
Li Lin listens to fast music in the morning. Why?
Music and feelings
Different music makes us have different feelings.
Slow music may make us feel relaxed, and fast music may make us feel excited.
The same music can make one person feel happy and another unhappy.
Listen to this flute music.
How does it make you feel?
Music and imagination
Music can help us imagine things.
With fast music, we may imagine an animal running.
With slow music, we may imagine an animal sleeping.
Listen. What do you imagine the animals are doing?
Will you listen to music at home today?
What are you going to listen to? Why?

Lisa's flute
Lisa goes to school early for their big concert.
Her music teacher finds her.
“Eric is sick,”
Mr White tells Lisa.
“You're going to play his part tonight.”
Lisa is very worried.
She says, “Eric is so good.”
Mr White smiles and tells her,
“Eric plays well, and so do you.”
Lisa closes her eyes and plays.
But the fast notes are difficult to play.
“I can't play like Eric,” she says.
Mr White plays some music on his computer.
The fast notes sound like birds or rain.
"That's beautiful. "
"I'll play like that one day!”
Mr White smiles.
“Lisa, that's you playing!”
“Really?” asks Lisa.
Mr White laughs.
“You work hard and play well, but don't forget to enjoy the music.
"You're a great musician.”
